About Alcoba
It starts with family.
José Castillo (left) lives in Maryland and oversees the coffee roasting process from import to distribution. Donaldo Castillo works the Alcoba Family Farm and ensures that our coffee beans make their way from Guatemala in the best shape.
The quest for quality.
José and Donaldo’s love of nature and agriculture led them to purchase land they could enjoy and they started by planting trees. José had tried to import Guatemalan coffee to the U.S. in the past, but was always unimpressed with the quality of the samples he tried. In 2004, the first Alcoba Coffee plants were grown. Eventually, José had his family’s very own coffee to import!
Alcoba coffee gets its name from the mountain range where it’s cultivated.
